Citizens for Affordable Living (CAL) is a grassroots, general purpose committee registered with the Fair Political Practices Commission (#1396018) in Sacramento.
Our mission is to maintain affordable coastal living in Morro Bay.
Our current focus is to stop the proposed $167,000,000 sewer project. In 2015 our water and sewer rates were increased to build a sewer plant estimated to cost $75,000,000. To date, nothing has been built and the City cannot account for how our money has been spent towards the new sewer plant.
Even though only three of the five rate increases approved in 2015 have gone into effect, the City is asking for additional increases. By California State law, the citizens of Morro Bay can oppose and stop the newly proposed rate increases. Please join us in our efforts
